The Edwardsville City Council approved the full-depth repair project for Swartz Rd. earlier this summer. The project consists of full-depth repair along Swartz Rd. and will begin the morning of September 28 at Kouns Lane heading east towards 94th St. This phase is expected to be completed in 2-3 days. Work will continue the week of October 3 to complete the full-depth milling and cement stabilization. The final phase of the project is expected to take place the week of October 10 and will involve final paving.
Additionally, mill and overlay of the paved areas at the City Cemetery is also scheduled to begin later this week.
This project is being funded through Special Highway funds, with money provided through gas taxes, and the Special Sales Tax. The Special Sales tax is earmarked for projects involving the Edwardsville Fire Department, road projects, and parks and recreation projects.
