Baker University’s Annual Christmas Candlelight Vespers concert is scheduled for 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 4, at Rice Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature performances by Baker University’s Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Orchestra. University President Lynne Murray will read a Christmas poem, and Marci Ziegler, associate professor of music and professional soprano, who regularly performs with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, will sing “O Holy Night” as a featured soloist. Audience members will be invited to sing carols along with the choir.
“We will have a special jolly visitor dressed in a red suit to greet families as they arrive,” said Dr. Ryan Olsen, director of choral ensembles. “This year’s theme will fill the audience with a holiday glow as the Baker choirs and orchestra present Christmas favorites to help start the season.”
Performances can also be viewed via Zoom.
