KCKCC's 100 Stories: When Ruby Nola first came to KCKCC, she knew no one. An international student from Auckland, New Zealand, she had heard many great things about not only KCKCC’s academic offerings but also its softball program and knew right away, the college was the right choice for her.

“I think what I have enjoyed most are all of the new people I have met from all over the world as well as here in Kansas,” she said. “I chose KCKCC because I had heard really positive things about the school. But everyone is just so nice here. It is such a great community.”

Nola, who is currently pursing a liberal arts degree and is a member of the KCKCC softball program, said KCKCC has been essential in learning interpersonal skills and basic knowledge needed before going to a four-year college or university.

“I think it is a good idea for people to attend KCKCC if they want to meet new people and find their way before heading off to a four-year college - especially if you don’t know what you want to study yet,” she said. “It’s a good place to get an idea of what you like and what you are interested in studying.”
